TechTrex Inc. announced today that it has received Vital Processing Services® (Vital®) Class B approval for its ConverTrex SP1 Internet Protocol (IP) enablement device. Merchants can now use existing point-of-sale (POS) terminals with the ConverTrex SP1 and Vital's VirtualNet® SSL 1.0 connectivity to securely process point-of-sale (POS) transactions via the public Internet, eliminating dial phone line expense while providing lightning fast authorizations.

The ConverTrex SP1 connects to the serial port of a POS terminal or integrated cash register to enable IP transaction processing with full 128-bit SSL encryption at a fraction of the cost of new IP terminals. Transaction response times can be reduced from 15-20 seconds for dial connectivity to 3-5 seconds with the ConverTrex SP1 IP. The ConverTrex SP1 is easy to setup and configure, offers full remote management and a secure firewall for additional security.
